As a side note, FORTRAN did not exist except as a draft specification 
internal to IBM in 1954.  It was 1957 or so before it became a 
commercial product and IBM finally delivered a compiler.  When I first 
saw this picture a number of years ago it was that fact, the "steering 
wheel," and the fact that the teletype is stretched to about twice its 
actual size, and does not look like any teletype I recall from the era.

God, I feel old knowing stuff like this.
