[ale] Ubuntu no go

I probably should have included "using Ubuntu" in my statement.  I also
have a intel 6300 running successfully on Suse 10.2.   It has a few
problems however.  It doesn't have the JMicron controller hardware either.

By the way, the box that is failing is an ECS P965T-A with a 6400 Intel
chip.
