I am confused by the last statement there.

In any case, I have used one NVIDIA card in a desktop system in the
past, with the proprietary driver.  It worked well.  However, I don't
like proprietary modules or drivers or software or any of that sort of
thing.  It pains me that I have to use that for my Wifi card in my
laptop, though it's the only proprietary module that I use anymore.
