To be honest, I have had enough with inkjet printers, period. HP does
have some very nice, color, laser printers that aren't prohibitive in
cost, though I am waiting for them to come down even more. Ink jet
printers are just not there for me; they are too expensive to operate,
they use too much ink, and they smudge easily and the like. I got one
with my computer which works, but I simply don't like inkjet technology.

I've had Canon and HP and Lexmark, and they're all pretty bad.

However, I have a Lexmark laser printer currently. B&W, but it works
great. The only thing it doesn't do that I need is automatic duplexing,
so I am probably going to sell it to someone else who will be happy with
it so that I can "upgrade" to a laser printer that does auto-duplexing.
It doesn't speak PostScript, but it does speak PCL and that is rather
nice.

Laser printers are great though, simply because if you get one that
speaks a standard language, you don't have silly toner issues unless the
toner cartridge is defective, which I have seen happen only once, years
ago, with an Apple LaserWriter. Of course, the moron that put the
cartridge in didn't notice that it was damaged in shipping...
