[ale] Any PPP-versed people here?

Even mgetty does this.

If I dial in to any of my devices I get a login.  If I instruct ppp to
do it than ppp must use PAP or CHAP.  Mgetty sees the first ppp packet
and will skip the login prompt and exec() pppd instead.  It is a very
nice solution and allows me to dial in to get either a tty with minicom
or use Winbloze DUN to get a ppp connection.
