One of the things I particularly dislike about linux distros is the way 
that updates are announced.  For instance, with Apache it makes sense 
for their announce lists to send out new release announcements.  However 
with linux distros it seems that subscribing to an announcement list 
gets you more announcements then generally needed.  In my case I only 
care about "server" or a subset of the vast majority of Debian and 
Ubuntu announcements.  I don't need Gnome update announcements, PowerPC 
announcements, etc.  What makes it really a mess is when a application 
is updated on 6 platforms... guess what, you get 6 announcements.  Has 
anyone found an easy way to only get relevant announcements without 
setting up a bunch of mail filters?
