[ale] OCR: (Was Printer problems)

I got the scanner working today - thanks to your help, few automatic
updates and reboots.

Has anyone got OCR working on their linux boxes? I tried gocr - didnt
work. Tesseract gives me a garbled output.

I also tried the xsane OCR and Clara
