On nameserver (which the problem narrows to,) I put all the nameserver and gateway stuff given on the PastAccess home page, into the etc/sysconfig/~ files where SuSE seems to write. But I haven't checked or found out it SuSE writes to resol.conf. I will try that thanks. I'm really coming along with my Network+ homeschool.
