Yeah, I can see why.  I haven't had any problems with it until now, and
I cannot for the *life* of me figure out what is wrong; I just know that
whatever it is, it is persistant across bounces of the process as well
as restarting the entire machine, the wiping out of /tmp/*, /var/tmp/*,
~/.kde/share/config/the-arts-config-file-thingy (I don't recall its name
offhand) and so forth, and it doesn't matter if root, my user, or a new
user executes it, it has the same problem.

*sigh*

At this point the only thing I can think of is something that affects it
globally.  I've attempted to rebuild both components of the aRts server
and it's not fixed it, so there has to be a global config file
*somewhere* that has changed in the past... four days or so.  But I
can't find it.  :-(
