I use powerline-ethernet and love it. The signal can't pass through a
transformer, so you might want to check how many folks are on the same 120
circuit as you. If you worry a lot you could probably put a filter on your
powerline, but I haven't bothered.

It is very easy to use, you just plug it in and it works. You do need to buy
one device for each computer, and one for your network connection.
