[ale] Gnome users, how do I get rid of the tool bar temporarily?

Sometimes I just move the bar to the side (vertical) of the screen.   
I think it will drag over but you may have to right click - move.   
(don't remember)  That way you can get to the buttons on the window  
you have open and still see your tool bar.
