The last time I installed NetBSD, I think I had a pretty well functional
system (without servers, which I did not want) in 100 MB or something.
I don't recall how this was configured other then it worked, and I
remember thinking, "I've never seen a Linux install that tiny."

My absolute base install at the moment takes about 270 MB, not counting
/usr/*.  :-/
