[ale] Switching from KDE to Gnome

After installing any version of SuSE, an immediate online update is 
necessary since Yast will have updates for itself and many packages.  
Once the basic bug update is done, you will mainly only receive security 
fixes until the version retires.  That first online update is important 
so that may be the source of the problem.  Hope it works!
