[ale] Box freezing during boot sequence

Try booting at the LILO prompt with:


LILO: linux init=/bin/bash

that should put you at a bash prompt.  You can then do:

mount -o remount,rw /
mount /usr (if needed)
vi /etc/fstab
sync
umount /usr
mount -o remount,ro /
ctrl-alt-del (reboot/init won't work)
