to preserve security labels used by selinux, use 'star' instead of 'tar'.
not sure about replacement for 'dump'.

Subject: [ale] dump and ACL's

I noticed on a recent dump (I actually watched the screen during the
startup of a manual run) of an ext3 filesystem that all of the ACL's
were skipped ("ACL on inode xxxxx skipped").

Why?

Is dump outdated now?

Is this going to be a problem later?

How does tar handle this? (I don't think it does ACL inode data either)

The system is a Centos 4 (so RedHat 4 with the NSA security modes)
