i.e. When I send to a public list I know that my words and email address
are now in the public domain. No problem. However, when I send an
email to someone's gmail address - a "private" email - I shouldn't
have to worry about it being in the public domain - and if I don't want
Google to use it, then how do I get it out of their system ???

Yes, but mail is normally seen as a "protected" (even somewhat lamely)
communication by law and most users showing any type of manners. gmail
is protected by neither. It's crass commercialism and rude as hell to
those who want nothing to do with it. Besides - I would probably stand
a good chance of just asking a person to delete those emails they have
sent by myself ... what do you think are your chances of asking Google
to delete it ???? or even those downstream of Google ???

.. and what planet are you living on ??? Can I get tickets to go there
??? Until the law gets rid of seeing faceless corporations as a legal
entity in criminal matters and starts to hold real live persons
accountable for their actions ...
