I'd check out www.netgate.com ... or perhaps... www.netgate.net ... or maybe... www.netgate.org
 
you'll know it when you find it, anyways, they have some really nice engenius cards that will "beat the crap" out of Orinoco (at least for reception and brodcast strength).

	EmperorLinux is local and carries cards that work with Linux laptops.  I
	don't believe they carry one that has an external antenna though.  There
	# is on their website.
