[ale] hotmail on Linux

Anyone:

Having replaced unbootable WinME with Linux on someone's laptop, she's quite happy EXCEPT:

  when using hotmail, everything looks fine until REPLYING or FORWARDING, when the HTML markup is displayed as text, and the receiver sees it all ( like, every line from the original begins with &gt. )

Searching google and slashdot showed plenty of complaints about hotmail, but I found no solution to this.
