[ale] OE update

An update on OpenEmbedded.

I downloaded Bitkeeper and got the OE repository. Configured it and tried a
build of nano successfully. Tried minimo and it failed. The broken package
list showed minimo as broken while nano is recommended as a test of the oe
installation. So I am good to go on porting packages in oe.

Just to catch people up:
OpenEmbedded is a build system that will unify several hardware architectures
under one build system. It is python code as it's base and supports all kinds
of handhelds and such. I am interested since the Zaurii are part of the
supported hardware along with Ipaqs and whatever. Anyway, since the 2.6
kernel is now coming along for the SL5500, SL5600, C7xx, and C8xx versions, I
wanted to help out with porting old opie packages into the new oe build
system. Developers are needed if your interested for oe. Kernel developers
for the Zaurii are really needed. The SL6000 isn't supported yet by OE or OZ,
however, the Sharp ROM is okay on the device. That would be a nice project
for someone interested in kernel and OE development. You can get an SL6000
from Amazon.com.

Go to http://openembedded.org to get to the top page. The wiki is where to go
to get info. The real developer community is on IRC and there are archives to
look at to get a feel for what is happening. Bitkeeper is the preferred
source control system but the kernel developers are not completely integrated
and no one is complaining too much. I'd encourage y'all to check out the
build system. A new OpenZaurus release depends on OE and porting all the Opie
packages over.

Last note:
handhelds.org is the host for OE and lots more stuff, like familiar and so on.
OE will probably be pretty ready by this Fall at the rate of movement,
however, the kernel is lagging a bit.

Personal side of my SL5600:
I used it on my last business trip to do wifi email, web searching, and to
check via ssh several systems. I am using the updated Sharp ROM right now for
external keyboard support, however, haven't really liked the Pocketop keyboard
so may go back to OZ 3.3.6pre1.
