[ale] LindowsOS 4.5 - not bad for a newbie OS

Have you checked out Knoppix?  It boots off cdrom, and has a nice
interface.  I downloaded "knoppix for kids", and my daughter loves the
various drawing programs.  (Unfortunately, she's only 4, so the algebra
program is a BIT hard!!  :) )  You can install it on a box, and run it
from HDD.
