[ale] Open Source Apps

This has been done.  I'm not sure what kind of market response it got 
but it may be good because its being done again.

First it was linux boxes sold at Wal-Mart about a year, year and a half 
ago.  Now Sun has a java workstation that is basically linux.  I posted 
about the java desktop thing a few weeks back.

I believe we need a campaign that pushes for the Dells and HPs of the world to give us choices, not just cheap and expensive, but free and open.
