This was touched on in an earlier thread, but I wasn't able to generate
enough Google leads to get very far. Basically I want to be able to take a
series of digitized/digital pictures and display them sequentially with a
sound/music track. Of course I need to either go for computer/DVD relplay,
or transfer to vcr tape at some point, but the sticking point for me is
the assembly.

While a daughter is back living with me, I can use her Mac and iMovie, but
ultimately I want to go entirely with a linux based system. So the
question boils down to one major & one minor question.

The major question is how to obtain decent quality audio for a sound
track, in sufficient quantity to not repeat over the space of a few
projects. All the sites I found with Google wanted upfront money, but
since I'm not making any money, I don't want to purchase and keep track of
their performance licences.

The minor question is for pointers to do this type project on linux
systems. Best pointers may be to web sites where somebody has done this,
and talks about their solution. (I'll be looking at that prior thread on
ALE again to make sure I got the juice out)

Thanks in advance for pointers and assistance.

FWIW, is it too early to wish each and all on this list a Happy Holidays?
Wherever and whatever your solstice celebrations, may they be happy and
healthy occasions.
