Yes. :)  That is both.  That is actually neither. :)  That is, I am now 
using localhost and that resolves the problem.  But, I was using 
speedfactory for some of my email addresses and 1and1 for others.

I built a website for my church and it's hosted on 1and1, therefore it 
has it's own domain, email addresses and therefore uses 1and1 for the 
smtp.  I use speedfactory for my personal email services.
