Personal experience says, they don't care about customer service. Grant
it, phone service just works. The few times I've had problems, they
just didn't give a damn.

1. Took them 5 days and 7 people to get my office line 'busy forward'
set up. I was told it would be within 24 hours. The last person I
talked to was a supervisor. I told her, with this kind of service, I
should look at AT&T for local service and get rid of both my Bell south
lines. She very plainly asked me if I would like her to connect me. I
said to what? She said to the department that could help me terminate
my service.

2. When they were running iftl through my old neighborhood, I noticed my
2nd line light on my phone would light up a lot and stay lit, until I
picked the phone up and it would sound like someone was hanging up my
phone. I figured they'd cross the lines or something. The next time it
happened, I picked up the phone and hear this guy doing the sweet talk
on some girl. Turns out, the guys running the iftl would hook into my
line whenever they needed to make a call. I actually approached them
about it and they told me it was common practice, but they always
selected the 2nd line going to house, because they figured it was for
either dialup or a fax.

Now to me, they're stealing my service as well as possibly causing folks
who might be calling me to get a busy signal. I left 6 messages with
their supervisor who never returned my call.

It still happens here in my new home.

I'll never do any business with Bell South unless it's going to cause me
extreme pain or money. I'd have changed local service months ago, but
you've got to have BellSouth to get dsl here.
