I'm committing $2,500 of my personal funds to EFGA.

As many of you know, in 1995 I was involved in founding EFGA. You might
also know that I have not done a lot with EFGA for several years. Scott has
done an excellent job at taking over the EF-Forums, and Andy has kept the
anonymous remailer going. Most of the other EFGA activities have stagnated
with no one to pick them up.

Scott and others, mainly Scott, have talked me into getting involved again.
To that end I'm initially committing $2,500.00 of my personal funds to the
group to get things going again. We have fees to pay to the Secretary of
State, the IRS, and miscellaneous business expenses. This money I am
donating will cover these expenses and get us going.

I'm also getting involved with EFGA activities every week. I'm reworking
the web site. I'm renewing contacts EFGA has had in the past. I'm doing
research. I'm doing a lot of research. I'm meeting with other groups who
share common interests with us. These groups include EFF, Public Knowledge,
the ACLU, Citizens for Democracy in Technology (CDT), EPIC, Consumer Project
on Technology (CPT), American Library Association (ALA), and a lot of
others. I'm also starting to spend time on the phone with attorneys - who
we will need to get things done.

We are not ready to start accepting donations yet, but we will be soon. We
do need money and volunteers. If you are interested in helping, contact me.
