I have a couple of usb cameras that have worked well:  A Philips
pcvc665k (uses the se401 driver) and the D-Linkj DSB-c100 (uses the
ov511 driver iirc).  These were inexpensive webcams, so the picture
is commensurate with the price.  :-)
