[ale] OT: unemployed list

I vote for "ale-career". That way, people could send re'sume's (with
contact info censored if necessary) through that channel as well.

I'd also advocate that this "ale-career" list (or whatever it gets called)
be distributed to the same list as "ale", but with the "ale-career" tag.
My justification for doing so is that the current "ale-unemployed"
subscription process isn't exactly automatic, and I fear that qualified
job-seeking professionals might miss my postings b/c they didn't know or
think to bother to subscribe to the separate list. Alternately, if I got
laid off this Friday (a likely day for layoffs since it's the trifecta of
being end-of-month, Friday and Halloween) and posted my re'sume' on
Monday, I'd be afraid that some of you all working for companies with
decent software engineering jobs out there wouldn't notice me. True,
some of you all just flat-out ignore me, but that's a different story. :)

Unsubscription from the sublist would be as simple as a Subject: filter.
And I'm assuming that the listserv software can blacklist any recruiters
that choose to abuse the system.

The original purpose of "ale-unemployed", IIRC, was for those of us on
the list that had become indefinitely displaced from of the job market
and wanted to explore ways to pool all the available talent into
something profitable. Unfortunately, nothing really came of the initial
in-person meeting beyond a few discussions on how best to incorporate.
Seems like some people took their H-1B discussions from the main list to
the unemployed back when that whole issue flared up.
