[ale] VNC type tool?

For most Win2k admin tasks, good ol' RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol, aka
Windows Terminal Server) works fine. Since Win2k Server, its free for
use for "remote administration" (which usually means 1 user).

I personally wouldn't be that happy with having that open to the
internet either, but its better than vnc -- it requires a username and a
password afterall.

rdesktop is the *nix client: http://www.rdesktop.org/. Remoted desktop
in administration mode is usually turned on on most Win2k server
installations by default.

The drawback is that its not really a windows "console" per se. For most
things it works fine, but for remotely configuring hardware, not
actually being considered a local user can be a problem sometimes. In
that event, what I do with may miriad of windows boxes at work is keep
vnc loaded but not turned on. I can use RDP to turn on vnc when I need it.
