1) Less folks want to be mailmen than LAMP developers. Remember that the
garbage men in most major cities make even more than what you have
already listed and don't even have to have a high school diploma.

2) LAMP folks aren't in as demand due to the recent economic downturn
and the plethora of folks that are out there with those set of skills.
Simple supply and demand.
