In fact, Bell South tech support and sales staff are all taught
that their services can not be made to work with Linux. I have
no idea how far up the support ladder you have to get before
intelligence trumps ignorance, but I have yet to get that far.
I've been with Mindspring/Earthlink for years now and their
tech support is better than Bell South's -- and I mean to
damn them with scant praise -- once you force your way past
the kiddies who only know to read the script.
But Chris and Geoffrey are absolutely on the money when they
suggest that both Bell South and Earthlink are trying to serve
the masses enslaved to M$ and do not seem to care a rat's rear
end about the rest of us.
