All,

I have mandrake 9.1 with reiserfs. I also have one of those little USB disk on a stick things which works quite well with Mandrake. Yesterday, I removed the stick without unmounting the filesystem. Upon logging out, Linux proceeded to complain a lot with LDM_Validation error messages. I could not escape out of it. So of course I shut the machine off manually.

Upon reboot, Linux basically tries to fsck ext2. If I am fast enough to type "N", I am stil in a "shell", with only a fraction of the file system visible.

My question is this, how does one "fix" a reiserfs? It seems Linux wants to apply the ext2 fsck bandaid which really hoses things. The good news is I have a partition Magic Image which I used to restore. I have a working boot disk. How do I fix the file system?

John
