Can anyone tell my this won't work:

sed "s/></>^M</g" content.xml

I'm trying to convert every occurrence of >< (between xml tags) into
 >newline< in a staroffice content.xml file. For some reason, it's not
working, and it's absolutely making me crazy. I've check the FAQs,
docs, man page, etc... but I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong here.

Does anyone have any insight? Did I miss something obvious?

Thanks again,
CB
