[ale] laptop with dual monitor

I am working (sort of working) on a Dell Inspiron 8500 that has the
Nvidia Geforce 4 4200 Go chip. The Linux load is SuSE 8.2 and talk
about a sweet install! Anyway, you are recommended to use the standard
Nvidia driver install, which is different as of the past month or so, to
install the IA32 driver instead a SuSE configured driver. I haven't had
a chance to try out the dual head, but with the SCPM tool I should be
able to setup dual head situation or maybe even triple head, all with 3d
accel. I'll post what I get working. I know with the new driver the
WXGA resolution of 1280x800 works good. I will try the higher
resolutions sometime soon. The support by Nvidia for Linux is superb
and I really don't mind the closed source as long as the stuff works
well. I haven't had a X driver crash ever since I switched to Nvidia's
binaries this year, so that shows some decent debugging and attention to
the drivers.
