[ale] SuSE 8.2, OpenOffice, JRE1.x

Hi folks,

This weekend I did an FTP install of SuSE 8.2, and so far I like it
better than RedHat. I have a problem, though - I can't install
OpenOffice, or indeed, anything that depends on Java, because the SuSE
FTP server doesn't seem to carry the JRE package.

If I just install Sun's Linux JRE, will Yast notice that and then let
me install OO.org? Or do I need to install a genuine SuSE JRE package;
and if so, where to find it? I suspect I'll have to install a SuSE
package in order for its package magic to notice the change. I've
googled a bit, and the JRE stuff is apparently on the SuSE CDs, but
that doesn't help me :-(

Thanks,

-- Joe
