[ale] easy first distro for a non-linux person?

It's been a while, but I think I've seen webmin with package
management functions before, at least on a FreeBSD box.  Probably
on other boxes too.  I'll have to verify at another time.  (I'm
off to a birthday party for the 7-yr old.)  :-)
