[ale] easy first distro for a non-linux person?

I would sugest SuSE 8.2
Just did like 3 installs... with failing hardware...
Instalation was a breeze, configuration is also very easy via Yast2.
replaced my Debina unstable for more stable platform.

I would tend to disagree.  I think you'll find Mandrake and SuSE to both 
have comparable hardware support to RH.  Unfortunately, most folks on 
the list don't have extensive experience with more then one or two 
distros.  I know I can't provide reasonable knowledge regarding RH at 
this point, as they are at least two releases ahead of my last experiences.
