I've never done this, but I have done a network hotsync from a remote
linux client to win2k.  This document has some tips for doing a network
hotsync, specifically with vmware and linux, but it might have some
helpful information:

Also check the documentation that came with your palm; it should
describe (though not very well :-/) how to do a network sync.
