When using RH 7.3 I had this HP 3C scanner working. But it
took hours of work to download and properly install both the
correct SANE front-end and back-end software and then get
the OS to properly locate and identify the SCSI scanner.
I managed to get it going again when I moved up to RH 8.0, but
I lost everything when a bad memory board crashed so hard it
totally screwed up the OS, requiring a reformatting of all
the partitions and reinstall. Then the upgrade to RH 9.0 required
further sorting out to get working. In the process the
SANE package was hosed. I have been able to get the SANE front-end
back on the machine [I think] but I haven't had the time yet to
download and try to install the appropriate back-end.
If I can get a new USB 2.0 card up and recognized by Linux, I
probably will give up and get a new Epson scanner and toss the
SCSI card.
