[ale] OT: No 3COM but lots of M$ NICs

I was recently in Best Buys, Office Depot, and Office Max; and I noticed
that none of these stores carry 3COM products like ethernet cards but
they all have tons of stock of M$ ethernet cards. These seems like the
world turned upside down. When the heck did M$ start making NIC cards?
Are they just putting their name on another brand? I wonder if M$ is
strong-arming these stores into carrying their brand but no 3COM
products.

Not that these are the best places to buy computer equipment, but how
can you explain not finding 3COM products in these stores and lost of M$
stock?
