[ale] Volunteer work for non-profits

Here in the research group we could use software development help.  We
are academic researchers doing pure research in biochemistry with
government funding from the NIH.  If he is interested in small program
development, perl scripting, or solving problems that we run into
periodically (some very challenging but small in nature) then have him
contact me directly.  This could be a long term relationship if he is
interested.  Students helping the research is great but students leave
and can't always be found.  We like to have a student do a project that
results in being part of a paper or poster so their career possibilities
are enhanced.
