That is truly terrible news. I have never found a "cure" for an infected
batch of ale. If it's a wild yeast, you might be on to some thing good
(I like lambics :) but if it's a bacteria, it would have to be a tough
one and would taste bad at best. Pour it out, cry a bit, brew another.

I lost a batch once due to a poor grommet on the airlock hole. If the
brew smells like old sweat socks, it's got a bad infection that could
make the drinkers have quite a stomach ache.

On a better not, I'm all up for a party. DEADBEEF, ALE, and crowd of
geeks and spouse units/SO's makes for a fun time. Spring is good for the
grill. but winter is good for the fat chewing and ale drinking.
Although, if anyone brings a laptop, the spouses and the like will not
be amused. :)
