[ale] problems getting to some sites??

Maybe someone can explain to me why different folks have different 
problems?  To further confuse my little pea brain, although I can get to 
/. via a browser, traceroute does not get there.  So someone tell me why 
that is????  Am I hitting a cache?  If so, why doesn't traceroute do the 
same?  It's too early, not enough coffee...

I noted I couldn't get to:

  www.frozen-bubble.org
  www.jpilot.org

Others are having problems getting to /. which I can get to just fine.
