Start the Gnome Control Center (from a menu or gnomecc) and click
the Screensaver link on the left.  Click the "Screensaver Options" tab,
and make sure "Power Management Enabled" is unchecked.

Also, check your /etc/XF86Config[-4] file for DPMS entries, Standby
Time, Suspend Time, etc.
