[ale] AIT [Sony] tape drive that won't spit out the tape ?

Yeah, without a hardware support contract with someone, repairing 
hardware is very expensive.  It is usually cheaper to buy a new item to 
replace the damaged one.  If rebooting didn't help then it is 
screwdriver time.
