We are currently seeking a Sr. UNIX Systems Administrator to help us manage
and expand our rapidly growing web hosting infrastructure. The ideal
candidate will have a proven track record managing a large multi-domain
based commercial web hosting environment.


Job Description
............................................
:: Install, configure & administer FreeBSD based servers in a large
multi-domain based web hosting environment
:: Perform scheduled server maintenance, upgrades and patches
:: Monitor system performance and maintain 99.9% uptime
:: Troubleshoot, analyze and resolve performance issues
:: Perform migrations of customer data as needed to maintain balanced loads
on systems
:: Assist in the development and enhancement of web-based tools and
applications (ie shopping cart, web hosting control panel features, contact
management systems, etc.)
:: Perform system restores and backups as necessary
:: Manage server security
:: Perform on-call duties as required
:: Assist in policing usage policies (spam, porn, warez, eggdrop bots, etc.)
and work with customers to resolve issues
:: Develop new web-based tools and applications to streamline the web
hosting provisioning process
:: Produce and maintain technical documentation
:: Assist in providing quality technical support to clients


Required Qualifications
............................................
:: Minimum 4 years of solid, professional Unix systems engineering &
administration experience in a commercial web hosting environment
:: Professional demeanor
:: Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
:: Excellent time management and organizational skills
:: Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
:: Solid understanding of Intel-based server hardware, including RAID
configuration
:: Fundamental understanding of a UNIX-based operating system
:: Experienced with switch configuration
:: Ability to write scripts (Tk, Perl, a shell, vbscript, etc.).
:: Experience with Linux, Unix, FreedBSD, Perl, Apache, sendmail, Qmail,
CGI, DNS, TCP/IP, SQL, and Red Hat experience is a must
:: Must reside within 20 mile radius of Atlanta

:: Experience with Cisco & Extreme Networks switches
:: Experience in deploying and managing firewalls
:: Professional web application/software development & database
administration experience (PHP, Perl, Java, C/C++, MySQL/Postgres)
