Given the current state of business software development for Linux, 
I think you would be smart to not look for a "one package does all" 
solution. For each of the tasks you mention (A/R, inventory, contact 
management, etc) there is sure to be at least one thing you would like 
to have that a given piece of software won't do. 

If you use a single system, there's likely to be a total of 5 or 10 "things 
it won't do"....

If you aren't tied into one massive system, you will be more free to try 
different solutions until you find the best fit for what you need to do, and 
free to try newly developed software as it is released. 

If you are willing to go thru the hassle of setting up Oracle, Compiere 
comes about as close to a "one package" solution as I've seen.
