If this is the case, then you're really at a position that is not
comfortable for someone new to Linux. Without having more information I
suspect the following is what you will need to do, although much of it
will likely sound greek:

1. Either boot to rescue from the installation cd

OR

Download a copy of Tom's root/boot, http://www.toms.net/rb/
Build it according to the instructions.
Boot your computer off of this floppy.

2. mount the / filesystem from your hard drive.
3. Edit the boot loader configuration file which will be either
/etc/lilo.conf or /etc/grub.conf depending on which boot loader is being
used.
4. Add an entry for XP to the above configuration file.
5. If it's lilo, you'll need to rerun lilo, via chroot.

Now depending on your level of expertise, and daring, you should be able
to do this. More explicit instructions are certainly available, but you
first need to decide if you're willing to attempt this.

The other possibility would be to bring the box to one of the upcoming
ALE meetings and beg for assistance, which you will most certainly get,
with very littl begging.

If it's a critical business issue (shame on you), then you're likely
going to end up paying someone to come on site to resolve this issue.

Not altogether good news, but you certainly have options.

The latest, most widespread virus? Microsoft end user agreement.
Think about it...
