If you're handy with a soldering gun, replace the bulbes with some LED's
and then get a power supply to feed them. That will cut the power bill
down a bunch. A single, white LED will only soak up 1/4 Watt while a
flashlight bulb (like what is in those things) will eat quite a bit
more.
