[ale] Can almost switch

My primary computer is the one where I spend most of my time because it
has the following critical applications for me:
- Word Processor
- Spreadsheet
- Presentation
- Email Client w/ Palm Sync
- Dial-up & 802.11b capability
- VPN to connect to work intranet
- Internet Explorer (Because Webex doesn't support any other browser)

I'm sure there are a couple of other things but with StarOffice & Ximian
Evolution, I have the big stuffed nailed for me to make my primary work
laptop a Linux OS. The last two things on the list are the only two
holding me back (assuming some stuff I read about Thinkpad T20 having
Winmodems but there are finally drivers available for the T20). I
installed the Cisco VPN client on my RH8 box but when I try to run it, I
get the following message.

VPN Message:
The module you are trying to load
(/lib/modules/2.4.18-18.8.0/CiscoVPN/cisco_ipsec) is compiled with a gcc
version 2 compiler, while the kernel you are running is compiled with a
gcc version 3 compiler. This is known to not work.

I don't want to go back to RedHat 7.3, anyone have any ideas on how I
might deal with this problem. My IT shop is not offering up anything
past Cisco VPN 3.6.1 client software.

Finally, our company makes use of Webex (http://www.webex.com). They
only support Internet Explorer. This might be the one thing that I have
to use WINE for. Has anyone had success using WINE to run just Internet
Explorer?

Until then, I have to settle running Win2K as my primary OS and
GNU/Linux on the other laptop (which I'm really spending more time on
these days anyway).

Thanks,
