John, thanks for the update. I do use Earthlink relays and so does my
client. That explains why things get through. It makes sense that
Earthlink is doing what they can to block the spam. Maybe your friend
can get his work to setup a VPN access for remote mail access. Even
better, they can contact me and I'll set it up for a reasonable fee, of
course :)

As for the caching problem on Bellsouth, I had the issue 3 years ago.
It's good to hear that that has been fixed. It was frustrating trying to
test a web app and getting the same page over and over and...
